Leo Stableford Riding a line between horrorsynth, synthwave and straight up techno this blistering EP is full of fire, uptempo beats and well curated vocal samples. The main point is that most of the tracks wouldn't be out of place in any heavy electronic music set list from industrial to techno. At the same time the EP is suffused with atmosphere and dark intent. Brilliant. Favorite track: Cannibal Ferox.

Drawing inspirations from yesteryear's electrotrash artists, and drawing out inspirations for this year's dark synth, Nightcrawler puts forth his twisted spawned minons of head-bangers and terror-fillers, popping between wacked stompers and dead serious slicers. Watch how you play this, don't wanna get yourself hurt. Favorite track: Notturno.

XARGON This is some seriously evil 'proto' dark-synth which makes excellent use of samples and horror themes, trust me - you need this is your life! Favorite track: Notturno.

kmxexii Before GosT, there was Nighcrawler! I wasn't really prepared for Bassferatu's abrasive sound when I first started listening to synthwave, but I'm much more inured to this abrasive brand of horror-infused synth. This EP isn't exactly as aggressive as GosT, but his heart is in the same dark place, and with even more affectionate movie samples. All of these tracks are cool, with the title being my fave, but the industrial sound of "Cannibal Ferox" is just as good. A must-listen for dark synth fans. Favorite track: Bassferatu.
